The Story of How One Curious Little Girl Found a Talking Tree That Changed Her Thoughts Forever

Tara and the Forest Her Friends Feared

In the quiet village of Nilgram, lived a little girl named Tara. While other children played in open fields, Tara was drawn to the nearby forest. The villagers warned her, “It’s too quiet there. Too deep. Too strange.”

But Tara was not afraid. She believed every part of nature had something to say—if only you listened.

One summer evening, after finishing her chores, Tara walked into the forest alone. Birds chirped, leaves rustled, but something felt… different. A strange breeze tugged at her hair, and one tree—tall, old, and covered in vines—seemed to breathe.

The Tree That Could Remember Everything

Tara sat under the tree and whispered, “I know you’re not just a tree.”
To her surprise, a low, kind voice replied, “And you, little girl, are not just a child.”

The tree’s name was Vriksha, and he could remember everything—the day the forest grew, the first monsoon, even when Tara’s grandmother used to collect flowers nearby.

Every evening, Tara returned to listen. Vriksha told her stories of how the earth healed after storms, how birds built homes one twig at a time, how even fallen leaves returned to the soil with purpose.

“You think you’re small, Tara,” the tree said once, “but small things often carry the biggest wisdom.”

When the Axes Came, Tara Spoke

One morning, Tara found woodcutters in the forest. They marked Vriksha with red chalk. He was to be chopped down to make space for a new road.

That night, she couldn’t sleep. Vriksha had told her stories that made her laugh, cry, and think. Could she just let him go?

The next day, Tara stood in front of the tree and shouted, “This tree knows more than all your books!”

At first, the villagers laughed. But Tara told them Vriksha’s stories—the soil, the birds, the healing of the forest. People listened. Something in her voice stirred their hearts.

The road was moved. Vriksha stayed. Tara had saved not just a tree, but a voice of the earth.

🌟 Moral:

Even one small voice, when full of truth and courage, can change the course of many.
